Keeping up with moms

Mother’s Day is coming up and if you haven’t noted it down yet, it’s May 13. It doesn’t occur on the same day in all countries but it’s always within the first 2 weeks of May. Except in Norway where it’s celebrated on Feb 12 (this wasn’t trivia kept in my head, all this I just found out on the web).

若你還沒寫下, 今年的母親節是五月十三日。雖說全世界各個國家的母親節日期不盡相同,但巧的是都在五月的前兩個禮拜, 除了挪威的母親節是二月十二日。(我並不是本來就知道這件事, 而是才在網路上得到的資訊)。

And even if like me you tend to forget, I’m sure you’ll be reminded by the retail and restaurant promotions as they gear up for this gift-giving season.
即使你或許會跟我一樣容易忘了這些節日, 我相信商店及餐廳在這送禮的季節而推出的活動肯
定會提醒了你。

And why do we thank our mothers and celebrate mother’s day? Go to page 3 and
see how much time they spend taking care of the household. And on top of
working! Alpha moms are the new generation of educated, tech-savvy, mobile,
multi-tasking mothers – more exposed to information and less confined to the
home.
為什麼我們要感謝我們的媽媽並且慶祝母親節呢? 請參考第三頁, 你將會知道他們在照顧家庭
上花了多少的時間。而且是在工作與家庭兼顧的狀況下。Alpha 媽媽們是受過教育, 熟知新
科技, 行動力強, 以及身負多重任務的新時代媽媽們– 他們接觸很多的資訊, 反而比較不會
被侷限在家裡。

But a mother’s trust is not enough for some brands to grow. In our showcase this
issue, we have a brand that already has the trust of mothers but now has to build
a following among it’s actual users, the children.
不過, 一個母親的信任並不足以讓一些品牌成長。在我們這期的Starcom Showcase裡, 我
們有一個已經得到媽媽們信任的品牌, 但現在必須要與其實際使用者建立更好的關係, 就是小
孩們。
